Talon Resources Starts Maiden Drilling at Eagle Lake Gold Project

Talon Resources plc (AIM: TAR) has commenced its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Eagle Lake gold project in Ontario, Canada, with the first hole underway at the high-priority East Fornieri Bay target.

The programme comprises 11 diamond drill holes totalling 1,375 metres across five drill pads and four target areas: East Fornieri Bay, West Fornieri Bay, Cedar Trench and Moss Knoll.

East Fornieri Bay was selected as the first target after Phase 1 channel sampling returned 4.80 metres at 4.47 g/t gold, including 1.0 metre at 19.10 g/t, and 1.85 metres at 7.17 g/t gold, including 0.50 metre at 24.40 g/t.

Critical Discoveries Corp. is managing the fully funded drilling programme, with Rodren Drilling Ltd. acting as drilling contractor.

Talon said assay results will be released in batches as they are received following completion of drilling.

Alex King, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We are delighted to have the drill turning at Eagle Lake ahead of schedule.  This is a fully funded programme, targeting some of the strongest gold prospects recognised in this part of the Wabigoon Subprovince, identified through our own exploration work and MINML’s proprietary PRISM machine learning platform, which has been used to refine target selection and optimise drill hole placement.  We believe the programme provides an important opportunity to test these targets and potentially advance our understanding of the Project’s gold potential.

“MINML’s work has demonstrated that 10 of the 16 cells covering the licence fall in the top one percent nationally for gold, placing Eagle Lake ahead of 62% of Canada’s 242 past and present gold producers, which were scored on the same basis. The objective of this programme is to provide further physical support of this high-grade gold mineralisation, and we look forward to presenting our results over the remaining weeks of Q3 and into Q4 2026.”

According to Talon, MINML’s analysis placed 10 of the 16 cells covering the Eagle Lake licence within the top 1% nationally for gold prospectivity.

The company expects results to emerge through the remainder of the third quarter and into Q4 2026.
