Kodal Minerals, the mineral exploration and development company, has responded to recent media reports incorrectly suggesting that spodumene concentrate exports from its Bougouni Lithium Project in southern Mali are being blocked.
The company clarified that discussions with the Malian government regarding the final export permit are progressing as planned, and it expects the permit to be granted in the near future. A further announcement will be made once the permit is received.
Kodal emphasised its longstanding and positive relationship with the Malian government, built over more than a decade of operations in the country. The government has remained supportive throughout the development of the Bougouni project, and both parties are aligned in their interest to commence spodumene concentrate exports as soon as possible. Kodal currently has over 27,000 tonnes of concentrate stockpiled and ready for export.
Operations at Bougouni continue uninterrupted, with the ramp-up to nameplate capacity at the processing plant firmly on track. CEO Bernard Aylward is currently on site in Mali, overseeing the ongoing mining, processing, and exploration drilling activities aimed at expanding the project.
The company will provide further updates as key milestones are reached.
