The Magnum Ice Cream Company (EURONEXT:MICC, LSE:MICC, NYSE:MICC) has commenced trading as an independent entity following the completion of its demerger from Unilever on Monday morning. The company has secured listings on three major exchanges, namely Euronext Amsterdam, the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange.
The newly independent business has issued 612,259,739 ordinary shares, each carrying a nominal value of €3.50. This structure provides the company with a nominal valuation of €2.14 billion. Trading commenced in London at approximately 1,110 pence per share.
Regulatory jurisdiction has been established in the Netherlands, which will serve as the company’s home member state for purposes of compliance with European Union legislation.
Peter ter Kulve, chief executive officer of the company, characterised the listing as a significant milestone for the organisation. He noted that whilst the business achieved global leadership in the ice cream sector under Unilever’s ownership, the newfound independence would enable enhanced agility, focus and ambition.
The chief executive referenced the company’s strategic framework, which aims to deliver growth whilst improving productivity. He indicated that the business would reinvest in line with medium-term targets previously outlined during a recent capital markets presentation.
Account holders with CREST, Euroclear Nederland and DTC are expected to receive share credits on the trading commencement date. Physical shareholding statements will be dispatched to eligible recipients by 22 December 2025.
In a separate development, Unilever has confirmed its intention to implement a share consolidation following the close of trading on Monday. The consolidation exercise has been designed to preserve comparability in share price metrics, including earnings per share and dividend per share calculations, across the period before and after the demerger transaction.
