Jadestone Brings Second Malaysia Infill Well Online at 2,800 bopd

Jadestone Energy (AIM: JSE) said the second well in its 2026 Malaysia infill drilling campaign has been successfully drilled and brought online at 2,800 barrels of oil per day.

The result follows the first well in the programme, announced in June, which achieved a peak production rate of around 3,200 bopd.

The second well, EBA-07ST1, was drilled on the East Belumut field, in which Jadestone holds a 60% interest.

The well was completed around 13% below budget and included a 930-metre horizontal reservoir section, reaching a total measured depth of 5,473 metres.

Jadestone said it is the longest well drilled to date on East Belumut and exceeds the length of the first well in the 2026 campaign by 600 metres.

With a 4.1 extended-reach drilling ratio, the well also set a new Malaysian record for extreme reach drilling.

The company said the positive results from the first two wells led to the decision to drill a third contingent well.

Drilling and completion activities on the third well have recently been concluded, with results expected to be reported in due course.

Chief executive T. Mitch Little said the second well had delivered another strong result and demonstrated Jadestone’s in-house drilling capability.

He added that the first two wells have increased production from East Belumut by more than 150%, equivalent to around 6,000 bopd, validating the company’s strategy of unlocking reserves from existing fields.
