GEO Exploration Uncovers New Gold and Uranium Targets at Gorge Project

GEO Exploration Limited (AIM: GEO) has reported encouraging initial results from airborne geophysical surveys at its Gorge Project in Western Australia, identifying a new high-priority magnetic target and significantly enhancing its understanding of the project’s gold potential.

The survey programme, which included high-resolution LiDAR, aerial photography, magnetic and radiometric surveys, has revealed a number of exploration targets that management believes could support the development of a maiden drilling programme.

The standout result is the identification of a new magnetic anomaly, designated MAG001, located in the northwest of the project area. Three-dimensional modelling indicates the anomaly begins at a depth of approximately 300 metres and possesses significant vertical extent. Importantly, MAG001 coincides with a LiDAR-defined topographic feature and iron-oxide staining observed at surface, a combination the company believes may be consistent with certain intrusion-related gold systems.

The magnetic survey has also improved the definition of a previously recognised five-kilometre trend of historical gold mineralisation and workings. GEO now interprets this corridor as a major northeast-trending structural zone, with areas of demagnetisation potentially indicating hydrothermal fluid flow associated with a significant gold system.

In addition to the gold opportunity, the company identified two significant uranium anomalies, RAD001 and RAD002, located close to the known gold trend. RAD001 lies just 300 metres from MAG001, creating an area of particular exploration interest. Management noted that the combination of magnetic and radiometric signatures may be comparable to geological features observed in major Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) systems such as Olympic Dam, Carapateena and Ernest Henry.

The new datasets have also enabled GEO to identify previously unrecognised historic workings, shafts and geological features, providing valuable information for future mapping and drill planning. The company has engaged structural geology specialist Dr Finbarr Murphy to assist with detailed interpretation of the airborne data and refine priority targets.

The Gorge Project covers 81 square kilometres within Western Australia’s Capricorn Orogen and has a history of high-grade gold occurrences. Historical exploration has returned rock chip grades of up to 134g/t gold, soil samples up to 233g/t gold and numerous near-surface gold nugget discoveries, including nuggets weighing more than 100 grams.

Chief Executive Omar Ahmad said the surveys are helping GEO move from historical prospectivity towards systematic target generation, while Exploration Manager Tom Harris highlighted the discovery of both previously unknown workings and new high-priority magnetic and radiometric anomalies.

For investors, the key takeaway is that GEO has rapidly expanded its target inventory through modern geophysical techniques. The combination of a newly identified deep magnetic target, a large-scale gold-bearing structural corridor and multiple uranium anomalies provides several potential discovery opportunities as the company advances towards its maiden drilling programme.
