Empire Metals Ltd (AIM: EEE) shares climbed 7.7% to 49.4p after the company more than tripled the Mineral Resource Estimate at its Pitfield Titanium Project in Western Australia.
The updated resource now stands at 8.16 billion tonnes grading 4.3% titanium dioxide, containing approximately 349 million tonnes of TiO₂.
That compares with the maiden October 2025 estimate of 2.2 billion tonnes at 5.1% TiO₂, containing 113 million tonnes, with Empire describing Pitfield as the world’s largest titanium resource.
Importantly, the latest estimate includes Pitfield’s first Measured Resource, comprising 374 million tonnes at 5.8% TiO₂ for 21.6 million tonnes of contained titanium dioxide. A further 3.65 billion tonnes is classified as Indicated and 4.2 billion tonnes as Inferred.
Empire also highlighted a 4.39 billion-tonne near-surface weathered zone grading 4.4% TiO₂, alongside higher-grade zones above 6% TiO₂ at Thomas and Cosgrove, which are being assessed as potential early mining areas.
Shaun Bunn, Managing Director, said: “This upgraded MRE is a landmark moment for Empire Metals and confirms Pitfield as the world’s largest titanium resource. To have defined 8.16 billion tonnes at 4.3% TiO2, containing 349 million tonnes of TiO2, underlines the sheer scale of this discovery.
Further drilling, metallurgical testing and engineering work are planned, with another resource upgrade targeted for mid-2027.
