Rockfire Resources plc (LON: ROCK) has reported further high-grade drilling results from its 100%-owned Molaoi zinc project in Greece, as work continues to upgrade the existing Inferred Resource to Indicated status.
Hole HMO-020 returned several mineralised intersections, including 2.34m at 6.2% zinc, 20.2g/t silver, 15.1g/t germanium and 0.3% lead from 215.6m.
Additional intersections included 2.86m at 4.1% zinc, 24.5g/t silver, 9.3g/t germanium and 1.2% lead, and 2.23m at 5.2% zinc, 24.4g/t silver, 4.1g/t germanium and 0.7% lead.
Rockfire said each successful hole is expected to contribute additional tonnes towards its targeted Indicated Resource, with drilling at HMO-021 currently in progress but temporarily suspended during the summer holiday period.
Alongside drilling, the company has started comminution testing to assess crushing and grinding requirements, as well as power needs for a future operation. Point-load testing is also underway to assess ground strength for potential underground mining.
Rockfire is additionally evaluating metallurgical testwork covering flotation, zinc ingot production and recovery of a germanium product as part of its feasibility work.
Chief Executive David Price said the latest hole successfully confirmed multiple mineralised zones and should help build tonnage as the company advances Molaoi towards a higher-confidence resource and development studies.
