88 Energy announces the initiation of operations at Hickory-1 well, part of Project Phoenix. The well is conveniently situated next to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and the Dalton Highway.
Initial steps include completed well bore preparations and upcoming perforation of the Upper SFS zone, setting the stage for subsequent fracking and flow testing.
Highlights
· Well operations underway ahead of perforating and flow testing the USFS zone at the Hickory-1 discovery well.
· Two flow tests are scheduled, one each in the Upper SFS and SMD-B reservoirs, with each frac and flowback operation expected to take approximately ten days.
· 88 Energy has strengthened its technical advisory team to include additional engineering expertise, as well as experienced members of the Pantheon Resources team being available to share their relevant recent and extensive knowledge.
· Results from the Upper SFS reservoir will be available on completion of flow back activities.
The testing process will commence with the Upper SFS zone, followed by the SMD-B zone. Each zone will undergo independent isolation, stimulation, and surface flow with the aid of nitrogen lift, ensuring efficient well clean-up. The expected duration for each zone’s program is about ten days, but 88 Energy reserves the right to modify the schedule for optimal data gathering during the flow back phase.
An array of data will be collected, encompassing both downhole and surface fluid samples, pressure and temperature measurements, and flow rates of oil, gas, and water.
Following the Upper SFS reservoir test, the focus will shift to the SMD-B reservoir.
To enhance the operation, Pantheon Resources is lending its expertise, gained from multiple flow tests in nearby areas, to assist during the flow back operations. Additionally, 88 Energy has fortified its technical advisory team with extra engineering specialists.
The complete testing program is anticipated to wrap up by March 2024. Updates will be shared following the conclusion of the Upper SFS flow test.
