Engineering consultancy Wood has secured a contract valued at $330m (£262m) with Harbour Energy, the leading oil and gas producer in the UK’s North Sea, as per the official announcement.
Under this new partnership, Wood will offer various services to Harbour, such as overseeing and maintaining its offshore locations, along with assisting in procurement and construction processes.
The initial contract duration is five years, with a provision for annual extensions up to an additional five years. This agreement is anticipated to bolster employment opportunities for hundreds, mentioned Wood.
Steve Nicol, Wood’s Executive President of Operations, remarked, “With over five decades of experience in the North Sea, we pride ourselves on efficiently managing and designing intricate energy infrastructures while focusing on reducing emissions.
The collaboration is set for an initial duration of five years, with the possibility of five additional one-year extensions, encompassing Harbour’s managed assets such as the J-Area, Greater Britannia Area, Solan, and the AELE hubs (Armada, Everest, Lomond, and Erskine).
