Rinearson posted a Twitter thread revealing what the new team is doing to develop decentralised apps. This was high up on Rinearson’s priority list.
The group will also examine the possibility of “decentralized media,” which could see social networks such as Twitter operate independently on the blockchain, with users responsible for governance.

Rinearson stated that “First, we’ll explore how we can support creators’ growing interest in using decentralized apps for managing virtual goods and currencies, and to support their work or communities.”
She said, “We’ll be looking further ahead, and we’ll explore how ideas from crypto communities could help us push the boundaries on what’s possible in identity, community ownership, and more.”
Jack Dorsey, the founder of the social network and chief executive of it, has used multiple platforms to show his support for blockchain and crypto technologies. He even changed his Twitter bio to #Bitcoin
Twitter introduced a crypto tipping function in September. The company also experimented with tools that would allow users to display their NFTs online.
