According to Downdetector, a website that monitors service interruptions, thousands of users are encountering problems with the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter.
The website, known for tracking downtime of online services, indicates that a large number of people have reported issues with both the app and website of the platform.
By 6 am, there were nearly 4,000 reports of outages submitted to Downdetector.
Several users trying to access their X accounts are greeted with blank timelines, with only the message “Welcome to X!” appearing on the home page.
Despite these issues, users seem to be able to continue posting tweets, as evidenced by the hashtag #TwitterDown becoming popular shortly after the outage reports began circulating.
Last autumn, billionaire Elon Musk acquired the platform in a deal valued at $44 billion.
