Traders Cafe with Zak Mir: Bulletin Board Heroes, Monday 16th March 2026

Zak Mir takes a charting look at some of the most closely followed small caps on the London Stock Exchange. Today’s charts are FTSE 100, DAX, Dow, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Gold, Crude, Amigo, Astrid, Botswana, Eco (Atlantic), 88 Energy, 80 Mile, Firering, Gfinity, Kendrick, Nativo, Pantheon, System1, Serica, Wishbone.

Markets remain messy and reactive to short-term technical levels. The big picture is simple: respect the 50-day and 200-day moving averages, watch RSI for oversold/overbought signals, and treat breaks or holds at clear support and resistance as trading triggers.

As always, do your own research and treat these as chart-based observations rather than hard recommendations.

Below I run through the major indices, the crypto and commodity movers, then the small-cap bulletin board names currently catching attention.

Major indices

FTSE 100

  • Key technical: sitting around the 50-day moving average at 10,361.
  • If it holds, look for dips toward the channel floor from October around 10,150 as buying opportunities.
  • Failure to hold 10,150 risks a slide to the 9,950–10,000 area (prior resistance turned support).
  • Upside target on a convincing end-of-day close above the 50-day is roughly 10,600.
  • RSI is below neutral at 41, so a cautious approach is sensible unless it moves toward oversold territory.

DAX

  • Trading in a wide range between roughly 23,000 and 25,500; currently nearer the range floor.
  • Channel floor from April sits around 23,000 — dips toward that area are potential buys while it holds.
  • Bearish signals: RSI well below 50 and both the 50- and 200-day moving averages are falling. Also note the double gap down earlier this month.

Dow Jones

  • Testing support around the 200-day moving average near 46,450; a breach could open a move toward prior support near 45,600.
  • To flip bullish the Dow needs to get back above 47,000, which looks difficult while the 50-day line is rolling over.
  • A constructive note: RSI is in oversold territory (levels not seen since the tariff scare last April). A dip into the low 20s might present a classic RSI-driven buying opportunity.

Cryptocurrencies — momentum building

Bitcoin

  • Breaking out of a near-term falling trend channel and trading above the 50-day moving average around 71,100.
  • Short-term target while above the 50-day: the upper channel projection near 79,100, possibly approaching 80,000 by month-end.
  • RSI comfortably above 50 — constructive momentum for bulls.

Ethereum

  • Through the 50-day moving average (around 2,127) and showing an uptrend in the RSI window.
  • Target for the top of the falling trend channel from last year: about 2,670, possibly by month-end if momentum holds.

Commodities — gold struggles while oil marches higher

Gold

  • Back below the psychological 5,000 mark and flirting with the 50-day moving average (around 4,957).
  • Short-term support to watch: the 50-day on an end-of-day close basis. If gold closes back below that level, the channel floor from October near 4,740 becomes the next downside target.
  • Upside resistance projection sits near 5,340, but the path there looks difficult without renewed bullish drivers.

Crude oil (WTI)

  • WTI is nudging the $100 per barrel mark and could push higher if momentum persists.
  • An end-of-day close above $100 would open the possibility of a retest of the spike near $119 seen earlier in the month.
  • On the downside, expect support in the low $90s (roughly $90–$93).

Small-cap watchlist

These bulletin board names are showing chart-based setups I’ll be watching closely. Price references are in pence unless otherwise stated.

  • Amigo Resources — Recovered strongly within a rising trend channel. Key level: end-of-day close above about 2.75p to target the channel top near 5p over the next month. Solid support at 2.24p.
  • Astrid Intelligence — Strong end-of-day close ahead of a recent interview and above the 50-day line (0.16p). Target: channel top near 0.24p by the end of next month.

  • Botswana — Bounced off the floor of its falling trend channel and shows an RSI uptrend. While above the 50-day (0.22p), a move toward 0.30p is possible by month-end.
  • EcoAtlantic — One of the best recent calls after a December turnaround. Recent overshoot of the channel top was followed by support near 53p. Targets: channel top at 62p, potentially as high as 82p by the end of next month.
  • 88 Energy — Classic breakout setup with a golden cross to start the week. Support near 1.75p, target 2.6p next month.
  • 80 Mile — Broke old resistance (1.25–1.4p) and found support above a rising 50-day average (1.3p). Near-term target 1.6p, with the channel top around 2.1p by the end of next month.
  • Firering Strategic — Showing acceleration after blasting through recent resistance. Expect further upside while support holds above the rising 50-day. Top of the rage around 2.10p
  • Gfinity — Came on from roughly 0.04p to hit an initial target at 0.06p. With a breakout above the 200-day (0.057p), next target near 0.09p.
  • Kendrick — A string of successful targets; currently set to challenge another target near 4.25p if it holds above broken resistance at 2.3p.
  • Nativo Resources — Gapped up and cleared the 200-day (non-rising). Triangle top points up to 0.72p while above the 50-day (0.49p on an EOD close basis).
  • Pantheon — Bull flag above old resistance (9.9p). Look for an end-of-day close through 12.5p before assuming it won’t retest 10p. Longer-term upside target near 20p.
  • System1 Group — Broke out of a falling trend channel. First target 228p already cleared; next target 310p with the 200-day around 304p. Keep stops below recent broken resistance at 235p.
  • Serica — With oil strength, Serica shows a bull flag above old resistance. An end-of-day close through 280p could set up a move toward 370p within the next month.
  • Wishbone Gold — Disappointing reversal: slipped out of the rising trend channel and broke key support at 60p. New downside target near the December support at 39p while it remains below 60p.

Practical trading checklist

  1. Respect moving averages: the 50-day and 200-day lines are your roadmap for bullish or bearish bias.
  2. Use RSI for timing: oversold readings (low 20s) can be attractive for contrarian buys; above 50 confirms momentum.
  3. Wait for end-of-day closes: confirmation at key levels reduces false break risk.
  4. Set limit orders near tested support: place entries around the 50-day or channel floors rather than chasing intraday spikes.
  5. Manage risk: decide stops relative to clear technical invalidation points (broken support or rising/falling averages).

Charts are doing the talking: where moving averages, channel floors and RSI line up, you get the cleanest trade ideas. Stay selective, favour trades that let you define risk tightly, and treat dips toward confirmed technical support as the best opportunities.
