Donald Trump has warned he will unleash “all hell” on Iran if it fails to comply with US demands within the next 48 hours, as tensions in the Middle East continue to intensify.
A 10-day deadline set by Washington for Tehran to reach an agreement—including reopening the Strait of Hormuz—is due to expire on Monday. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: “Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them.”
The US president has repeatedly threatened to target Iran’s energy infrastructure if it does not accept a proposed settlement framework. While initial deadlines were extended amid claims that negotiations were progressing, recent statements suggest a more aggressive stance.
Military activity has escalated on both sides. US-Israeli strikes have reportedly hit power supplies linked to a major petrochemical facility and the perimeter of a nuclear site. Iran has responded with attacks targeting US-linked assets in the Gulf, including strikes on infrastructure in Dubai and Kuwait, and has warned of further escalation if its energy facilities are hit.
Separately, a US fighter jet was downed over southern Iran on Friday. While the pilot was rescued, a second crew member remains missing, raising concerns over a potential capture.
