Oriole Resources Reports Highest Gold Grade to Date at Mbe Project in Cameroon
Oriole Resources PLC (AIM: ORR) has announced its best gold grades from the ongoing drilling campaign at its Mbe gold project in Cameroon.
In a market update, the company revealed that recent drilling at the MB01-S target returned grades of up to 25.77 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold.
Under the fully funded Phase 1 programme, thirteen drill holes have been completed so far, with a fourteenth hole currently in progress.
Oriole Resources expects to receive assay results for drill holes MBDD010 to MBDD012 later this quarter, as it advances its Mbe gold project in Cameroon.
The company aims to define a JORC Exploration Target in the year’s third quarter, with a maiden pit-constrained mineral resource estimate planned for the fourth quarter.
Drilling details
Drillhole MBDD009 returned standout results, including 2 metres at 25.77 grams per tonne of gold, with a peak interval of 1 metre grading 51.3 grams per tonne — the highest gold grade recorded to date at the Mbe project, according to Oriole Resources.
The hole was drilled 160 metres west of a previously reported intercept of 86.50 metres at 1.36 grams per tonne, further expanding the known mineralised footprint.
The company said these results confirm that the project’s mineralised corridor now extends over 400 metres in strike length.
Chief Executive Officer of Oriole Resources, Martin Rosser, said: “Building on the last announcement of outstanding drilling results, hole MBDD009 is significant as it supports our view that we can expect narrower zones of high-grade gold mineralisation within the wider, lower-grade mineralised envelopes. The 1.00m at 51.30g/t gold intersection is the highest grade encountered to date.”
