Marechale Capital PLC (AIM: MAC) shares jumped 12% in early trading after its wholly owned subsidiary, Blubird Global, launched a second-generation tokenisation platform, digital asset registry and marketplace.
The platform is designed to connect tokenised assets directly with the legal contracts and ownership records that govern them, addressing a key weakness in many existing tokenisation systems where the digital token, legal documentation and official ownership register are maintained separately.
Blubird said its system allows the token and underlying legal asset to move together throughout the asset’s lifecycle, from initial issuance through every subsequent transfer.
The platform combines issuance, ownership recording and distribution within a single system and is available across more than 25 asset classes, including real estate, renewable energy, infrastructure and natural capital.
Key features include a single authoritative digital ownership register, legally enforceable Ricardian contracts, verifiable chains of title and tamper-evident records showing what was signed, by whom and when.
The platform is also blockchain-agnostic, allowing assets to be deployed using recognised market standards rather than locking clients into a proprietary token format.
Marechale chief executive Patrick Booth-Clibborn said the launch represented a significant step forward for Blubird and the wider tokenisation industry.
He added that creating the token and legal asset simultaneously, and keeping them permanently linked, could strengthen Blubird’s competitive position and establish a new standard for tokenised ownership.
