Kodal Minerals PLC (AIM: KOD) commenced permitting processes for export of its first product.

Bernard Aylward, Chief Executive Officer of Kodal Minerals PLC (AIM: KOD), recently spoke with Proactive regarding the company’s progress at its Bougouni lithium project in Mali, highlighting key milestones that position the company for near-term spodumene concentrate exports.

Aylward confirmed the successful transfer of the mining licence, describing it as a critical achievement that finalises the necessary regulatory formalities and advances the project to its next operational phase. “We have been very diligent with the work to ensure the licence transfer. The licence now resides with our mining company,” he stated.

Kodal Minerals is now progressing towards the export of its first product, with export permitting processes currently underway and ongoing plant optimisation efforts. Chief Executive Bernard Aylward indicated that initial export activities are anticipated in the next quarter, subject to the completion of final compliance checks and the achievement of optimal plant performance.

In parallel, the company is building a stockpile of over 17,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate and is continuing its drilling programme at the Boumou prospect to further expand its resource base. Aylward highlighted the extensive on-site work, which includes enhancements to plant infrastructure and mining operations, all aimed at maximising the long-term value of the Bougouni project.
