Harbour Energy (LON:HBR) plans to divest its Vietnam oil fields for £66 million.

The UK’s leading oil and gas company has struck a deal worth $84m (£65.8m) to divest its operations in Vietnam.

Harbour Energy is set to transfer its 53% ownership in the Chim Sao and Dua oil fields to Big Energy Joint Stock Company.

With its headquarters in Edinburgh, Harbour Energy anticipates finalizing this transaction, marking its departure from Vietnam, by year-end.

Linda Z Cook, the Chief Executive, commented:

We’re delighted to confirm our agreement to hand over our Vietnamese operations to Big Energy, an emerging domestic oil and gas entity. We remain focused on refining our portfolio.

Though Vietnam isn’t central to our future growth blueprint, we take pride in the top-tier business we’ve established there, appreciating both the team and assets since our inception in the nation in 2004.
