Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joins Reveille Resources

Reveille Resources PLC (AQSE: REV) has appointed former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as its proposed Non-Executive Chairman as the company seeks to develop its uranium interests in Italy.

The appointment remains subject to completion of customary regulatory due diligence and onboarding requirements, including documentation required by Reveille and its Aquis Corporate Adviser, Allenby Capital.

Pompeo served as the 70th United States Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021 and previously led the CIA from 2017 to 2018. He also served in the U.S. House of Representatives for Kansas from 2011 to 2017.

Reveille intends to use that experience primarily to strengthen its positioning around energy security, critical minerals and Western nuclear-fuel supply chains. His mandate will include supporting engagement with Italian government and institutional stakeholders, US institutional investors, potential American funding sources and strategic partners.

Pompeo will also assist the Board in evaluating additional uranium exploration and development opportunities in Italy and other Western-aligned jurisdictions.

He already holds several corporate and investment positions relevant to that strategy. Pompeo is currently a director of VEON, having been re-elected to its board in May 2026, and is also a director of London-listed ACG Metals and Nasdaq-listed Cyabra.

He is also a partner at private-equity firm Niobrara Capital Partners and Executive Chairman of Impact Investments.

Reveille’s strategy is centred on historic uranium prospects including Val Vedello and Novazza, which are held through subsidiary Futuro Energetico Italiano.

The company characterises these as among Italy’s most significant historic uranium deposits, but they remain exploration and permitting opportunities rather than producing uranium assets.

Pompeo himself emphasised that distinction, stating that Reveille is not promising immediate production and that the current task is to explore, define the resource opportunity and establish what development may ultimately be possible.

His proposed appointment is for an initial three-year term. Subject to formally joining the Board, Pompeo will receive options over 7 million Reveille shares.

The options will be immediately vested and exercisable at 7.25p per share, equivalent to the closing middle-market price on 5 October 2026, and will expire three years after his appointment. Exercising all 7 million options would require approximately £507,500.

Following the change, former chairman Andrea Cattaneo will become Non-Executive Deputy Chairman. Cattaneo is chief executive of Zenith Energy, Reveille’s largest shareholder.

For investors, the significance of Pompeo’s appointment is less about immediate operational progress and more about access, credibility and strategic positioning.

A former US Secretary of State leading the Board potentially gives Reveille greater visibility with North American uranium investors, strategic capital providers and policymakers at a time when security of nuclear-fuel supply has become increasingly important.

However, that strategic value still has to translate into permitting progress, exploration results, funding and ultimately a defined economic uranium resource.

The next key milestones are therefore completion of Pompeo’s formal appointment, progress across Reveille’s Italian permitting and exploration programmes, and evidence that his involvement produces tangible institutional funding or strategic partnerships rather than simply greater market visibility.

Investor takeaway: Reveille has appointed former US Secretary of State and CIA Director Mike Pompeo as proposed Non-Executive Chairman, giving the small-cap uranium explorer considerably greater geopolitical and institutional reach. His mandate includes helping Reveille access US investors, strategic partners and potential funding sources, although the appointment remains conditional on regulatory due diligence and the company’s Italian uranium projects are still exploration-stage opportunities.
