On Saturday, the first UK cases of the Omicron Covid variant were confirmed. Ministers also planned to place travel restrictions on other countries affected by the mutation.
Two individuals from Essex and Nottinghamshire were found to be positive for the new variant. Officials are now conducting mass testing in affected areas in an effort to find more cases.
Despite warnings about the transmission of the new variant, Government officials announced that four more countries would be added to the travel black list. This means that flights from and to these countries will be temporarily suspended.
Ministers have already suspended all flights from South Africa and Namibia to Botswana, Lesotho, Lesotho, Lesotho, Eswatini.
