Angus Energy plc (AIM: ANGS) has confirmed that preparations for the planned workover of its BRX4Z well at the Brockham Oil Field are well advanced, with drilling equipment secured and operations expected to begin in November 2026.
The company, which operates Brockham and holds an 80% interest in the field, has secured a rig for the programme and ordered all long-lead equipment required to complete the work.
- Rig secured for the planned BRX4Z workover at the Brockham Oil Field, in which Angus holds an 80% interest and is the operator, with mobilisation expected in early November 2026.
- All long-lead items required for the workover programme have been ordered.
- Workover operations are expected to take approximately three weeks and will include perforation and acidization of the Portland reservoir interval.
- Programme intended to bring suspended wellbore, BRX4Z, onto production in order to increase production and recovery from the Company’s existing Brockham asset.
The rig is currently deployed at another location and is expected to mobilise to Brockham in early November, with workover operations anticipated to take approximately three weeks.
The programme will focus on bringing the suspended BRX4Z well into production from the Portland reservoir, potentially increasing oil output and improving recovery from the existing field.
Planned operations include perforation and acidisation of the Portland reservoir interval, followed by completion of the well for production. These procedures are designed to establish or improve the flow of oil from the reservoir into the wellbore.
The workover forms part of Angus Energy’s wider strategy to maximise production and value from its existing operated assets through targeted investment in established wells and infrastructure.
Successfully bringing BRX4Z into production would provide Brockham with an additional producing well, although the company has not yet provided an estimate of potential production rates or additional recoverable reserves.
For investors, the programme represents an opportunity to increase output from an existing asset without the need to develop an entirely new field.
Angus Energy said it will provide further updates once operations commence and as the workover progresses.
Attention will now turn to the November mobilisation and subsequent well performance, which will determine the extent to which BRX4Z can contribute to future production at Brockham.
