The CBS team visited Nalunaq to learn about Greenland’s potential for raw materials. Amaroq CEO Eldur Ólafsson spoke with CBS about Greenland’s mineral potential, mining and infrastructure and how the Nalunaq gold mine can be used as a model for mining minerals and rare earths.
The Trump administration is eager to acquire Greenland and mine zinc, copper and rare earth metals. But geologist Minik Rosing and Amaroq Minerals CEO Eldur Ólafsson told 60 Minutes the territory lacks infrastructure that would take years to build.
