Why Video is Essential for Brands Today

Let’s get straight to the point. Video has become the most important media format. Cisco Systems forecast that by 2021 there will be 1.9 billion online video users watching 3 trillion minutes of video per month, and 80% of all internet traffic will be video. Video has arrived, and its benefits are unparalleled.

From a marketing perspective, video massively boosts conversions and sales.

Slideshare research found that video on a landing page can boost conversions by 80% while Wordstream discovered that marketers who use video grow revenue 49% faster than non video users. The Aberdeen Group found that Video marketers get 66% more qualified leads per year and a business that has a video on its homepage is 53 times more likely to appear on the Google homepage than a website without.

Hubspot note that mobile video consumption is growing by 100% per year and Forrester Market Research finds that a one minute video is equivalent in impact to 1.8 million written words, which is certainly food for thought before you send out your next email campaign. On that topic Forrester Research found that including video in emails boosts click through rates by 200-300%.

Stats aside, video is fun, engaging, and gives brands the opportunity to reach out and directly connect with their clients, prospects and the market. The revolution has already been recorded, uploaded, liked and shared.
