US stock markets opened firmly higher on Friday as investors looked to end the month on a positive note, with technology shares once again leading the gains.
The Nasdaq Composite rose 231.33 points, or 0.92%, to 25,353.51 shortly after the opening bell.
The S&P 500 advanced 39.96 points, or 0.54%, to 7,477.59, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 225.88 points, or 0.43%, to 52,433.94.
Apple was the biggest drag on the market, falling 8.6% after warning that supply constraints would weigh on sales of its iPhone, Mac and iPad products during the current quarter.
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase also suffered sharp losses, dropping 12.1%, while internet services company GoDaddy slumped 23.8% after disappointing investors.
Other notable decliners included Strategy, industrial gas supplier Linde, software company AppLovin and memory chip manufacturer SanDisk, all of which traded lower during the session.
Despite the weakness in several large-cap stocks, the broader market remained in positive territory, supported by continued strength elsewhere in the technology sector as investors assessed the latest wave of corporate earnings.
The positive opening puts Wall Street on course to finish July with further gains as sentiment improves across global equity markets.
