ShareSoc is running 2 events next month, one in London on the 13th and one in Leeds on the 19th of September.

ShareSoc’s events are great opportunities to socialise with your fellow investors and discuss these and other investment opportunities directly with the companies presenting. These seminars are open to anyone with an interest in stock market investing.

ShareSoc Growth Company Seminar in London, 13 September 2017


1pm plc (OPM): established in 2006, 1pm is an independent provider of finance facilities to the SME sector. The 1pm plc group offer a full range of business finance solutions to the UK market from asset finance, hire purchase, commercial loans through to invoice finance and factoring.

Avation plc (AVAP): owns and manages a fleet of commercial aircraft which it leases to airlines across the world. In 2016 – its tenth year as a public company – Avation reported record revenue and profit.


These events consist of a 25 minute presentation by each company followed by 15 minutes of questions and answers. Companies presenting are interesting growth companies of small/medium cap size. Refreshments and a buffet are provided free of charge to Full ShareSoc Members or a nominal charge for others and you get the opportunity to talk directly to the directors of the presenting companies. This is also a great opportunity to socialise with your fellow investors and discuss these and other investment opportunities. These seminars are open to anyone with an interest in stock market investing.

Stockopedia will provide facts and figures on the presenting companies for attendees (don’t forget that ShareSoc subscribing members can get a special discount on Stockopedia subscription rates – see Member Offers ). Event registration opens at 5.00 pm and presentations commence at 5.30 pm.

Three strategies for making money by investing in penny stocks

If you are a Full (i.e. Subscribing) ShareSoc Member it is free to attend and all you need do is complete the following form to register for this event. However, if you are an Associate Member or visitor (anyone can attend) the fee is £10 to cover the cost of refreshments. In that case make sure you select “no” in response to the question “Are you a subscription paid full member?” at the end of the form, and you will then be prompted to enter payment details securely.

ShareSoc provides a monthly newsletter, educational events, networking opportunities and general advice to members on stock market investment. They maintain a social networking site[5] that is private to members which contains forums on policy issues, topical blogs, campaign information and meeting details.

Membership of ShareSoc is open to anyone with an interest in stock market investment. ShareSoc is funded from membership fees, from donations, from educational activities and from other services it provides to members. Recent membership includes Full Membership with extra rights.
