Zak Mir takes a charting look at some of the most closely followed small caps on the London Stock Exchange. Today’s charts are the **FTSE 100, DAX, Dow, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Gold, WTI Crude Oil, Andrada, Anglesey, Aminex, Celsius, Cykel, East Star, Huddled, Thungela, Thruvision, Total Graphite, Valereum, World Chess.**

The main message across the major markets is simple enough: a number of charts remain constructive, but several are sitting just below the levels that would trigger the next leg higher. The key is to focus on end-of-day closes, respect the moving averages, and avoid getting carried away before resistance has genuinely been cleared.

Here is the current technical picture for the FTSE 100, DAX, Dow, Bitcoin, Ethereum, gold, crude oil and a selection of smaller-cap shares.

###### **As always, do your own research and treat these as chart-based observations rather than hard recommendations.**

## FTSE 100: A Break Above 10,860 Would Open the Door to Fresh Highs

The FTSE 100 is holding neatly beneath resistance around **10,860**, marked by the descending line from late July. An end of day close above that level would be the bullish trigger, with the top of the rising channel at **11,100** as the next target.

That would represent a new record high for the index, and at the current rate of progress it looks achievable by the end of next month.

The technical background remains supportive:

- The index is above the floor of its rising channel.

- The 50 day moving average sits below price at around **10,719**.

- The RSI is in the mid 50s, which is a healthy rather than overstretched reading.

The preferred scenario is a sustained close through 10,860 followed by a move towards 11,100. If the market breaks down instead, the old July support near **10,420** becomes the natural downside destination. The 200 day moving average is just below that at roughly **10,353**.

## DAX: Staying Above the 50 Day Average Keeps 27,600 in Play

The DAX has spent time trading around the **26,000** area, but it has managed to bounce back above a rising 50 day moving average. That is normally a continuation signal, particularly after a previous support line has already been tested and broken.

While the index remains above the 50 day average at approximately **25,695**, the expectation is for a push towards the upper boundary of the channel near **27,600** by the end of the month.

The channel floor around **25,300** is the main lower support level. For now, the constructive case depends on holding above both the 50 day average and RSI 50.

## Dow: Rising Channel Still Intact, Despite an RSI Warning

The Dow has a broadly similar setup to the FTSE 100. It closed just below resistance around **53,400 to 53,600**, while the floor of the rising channel from late March and early April comes in near **52,700**.

The hope is that 52,700 provides the floor for the current move. If the channel remains intact, the best case target is the top of the formation near **55,600** by the end of next month.

There is one cautionary detail. The RSI has struggled in the mid to upper 50s, which can sometimes act as an early downside warning. That signal has not yet led to a breakdown, so the rising channel remains the dominant feature, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

## Bitcoin: A Breakout From the 76,000 to 82,000 Range Is Needed

Bitcoin has held on to most of its recent gains, but it is currently trapped in a fairly obvious range between **76,000** and **82,000**. Until it escapes those parameters, there is not much more to say from a directional perspective.

Support is expected to emerge above the top of the earlier gap near **72,600**. Meanwhile, the 50 day and 200 day moving averages are closing in on a potential **golden cross**.

A golden cross occurs when the shorter-term moving average rises above the longer-term average. It is generally treated as a bullish technical development, although the strongest part of the move can often occur during the run-up to the crossover itself. For a broader explanation of the concept, see Investopedia’s guide to the golden cross.

If Bitcoin closes above **82,000**, the next upside target is around **94,000**, the upper boundary of the broadening triangle that has been in place since February.

## Ethereum: Consolidation Could Lead to 2,900

Ethereum was painfully dull through much of July and August, but it is now showing the sort of mid-move consolidation that can precede another push higher.

The immediate range is between roughly **2,350** and **2,570 to 2,580**. An end of day close above 2,570 would point towards the top of the rising channel from February, currently around **2,900**.

That target could be seen by the end of next month, perhaps sooner if momentum improves. For now, dips back towards the mid-2,300s remain the area bulls will be looking to defend.

## Gold: Hold 4,390 and the 200 Day Average Becomes the First Objective

Gold has had a rougher ride lately, but the key support remains the floor of its rising channel around **4,390**. Friday’s low was near 4,365, so this is clearly a level that needs to hold on a closing basis.

Above 4,390, the first objective is the 200 day moving average at **4,534**. The stronger upside case is for a move towards **4,900**, which represents both the top of the channel and the old April resistance area.

The chart still has several positive features:

- The 50 day and 200 day moving averages are both rising.

- The RSI remains above neutral 50.

- The price channel is still pointing higher.

The downside risk is a move towards the 50 day average around **4,239**. If that occurred, it would be a major test of bullish conviction, but it could also attract buyers looking for a deeper pullback.

## WTI Crude Oil: Above $88, the $93 Target Returns

WTI crude oil is holding above last month’s resistance around **$88**. As long as that level is retained on an end of day closing basis, the market can look for a retest of **$93**.

A stronger move would target the top of the rising trend channel from June at approximately **$101**. That is the more ambitious end of next month target, although it could arrive sooner if crude maintains momentum.

If there is a sharp reversal, broken resistance near **$85** should provide support. The more remote worst case is an intraday move towards the rising 50 day average just below **$81**.

## Small-Cap Share Charts Showing Constructive Setups

*The smaller-cap universe is being narrowed down to charts with clear technical signals. The common thread is strength above rising moving averages, breaks through established resistance and bullish recovery patterns.*

- ***Andrada Mining: 8p First, Then 9p to 10p: **Andrada has been one of the stronger charts over the past month. The break above **4.3p** delivered the initial move above 6p, and the next target is the upper parallel of the rising channel from January at around **8p**. If the shares hold above 6p, the descending resistance line from last October could point towards **9p to 10p** next month. The exact target depends on how that line is drawn, but the broader technical structure remains positive above current support.*

- ***Anglesey Mining: Strong Candles Above the 200 Day Average: **Anglesey Mining has produced an encouraging bounce above a rising 200 day moving average. The 50 day average is also rising beneath the price, which adds to the positive setup. Four consecutive sessions opened near the low and closed near the high. That type of candle action often suggests accumulation and improving demand. While the shares remain above the 50 day and 200 day averages, the target is around **9.75p** by the end of the month, potentially sooner.*

- ***Aminex: A Bear Trap Reversal Towards 3.25p: **Aminex has staged a recovery that may have surprised plenty of people. The shares have broken out of the falling channel at around **2.1p**, while the 200 day moving average is rising just below 2p. As long as the price stays on the right side of that 200 day average, the projection is towards the descending resistance line from February near **3.25p**. The recovery was helped by bullish divergence after the lower low seen in the middle of the previous month. *

- ***Celsius Resources: A Rising 50 Day Average Changes the Picture: **Celsius has not had much attention, but the chart is beginning to look better. There is an upward trend in the RSI, and the shares pushed above the 50 day moving average on Friday. More importantly, the 50 day average is now rising. That is usually a much better signal than merely trading above a falling average. The near-term target is** 0.46p**, representing the key resistance area seen after May.*

- ***Cykel: A Bounce From the Rising 50 Day Average: **Cykel remains one of the charts worth repeatedly following because the technical case stays clear. The shares have bounced above a rising 50 day moving average, which can be an early indication of a larger upside move. While the price remains above that moving average, the target is **32p** next month, or potentially earlier.*

- ***East Star Resources: Above 6.5p, the Channel Points to 10p Plus: **East Star has been attracting attention after breaking the first target at the top of its channel near **6.5p**. Above that level, the next projection is the upper parallel of the rising trend channel from July. That points towards **10p or more** by the end of the month. The question now is whether the shares can maintain their new bullish credentials and build on the recent backing.*

- ***Huddled: A Recovery Towards 1.3p: **Huddled has already delivered the initial signal by pushing above a rising 50 day moving average. The first target was the gap around **0.73p**, and attention now turns to prior March resistance near **1.3p**. The immediate requirement is to hold above the recently broken resistance level around **0.6p**. If that support remains intact over the next few sessions, the recovery structure can continue.*

- ***Thungela Resources: Higher Targets After Reaching 613p: **Thungela has performed very well after breaking above its 200 day moving average and reaching the initial ambitious target near **613p**. Above 613p, the next technical objective is the upper parallel of the rising trend line, which points towards approximately **748p** by the end of next month.*

- ***Talon Resources: A Conservative Recovery Target of 1.8p: **TAR has started to rehabilitate itself after breaking above the 50 day moving average. The move through that average around **1.33p** was technically healthy. The conservative target is around **1.8p**, which represents roughly half of the earlier breakdown candle from around **2.5p** to **1.2p**. There is no technical reason the shares could not recover more fully over time, but 1.8p is the sensible initial objective while the price remains above the 50 day average.*

- ***Total Graphite: Gap Fill Potential Towards 1.05p: **Total Graphite has broken out of its falling channel around **0.81p**. That breakout initially pointed to the 50 day moving average, but the next stage is a potential gap fill towards **1.05p**. The stronger end of next month scenario is a move towards **1.25p**, an area that acted as resistance during the previous decline.*

- ***Valereum: The Failed Gap Fill Supports the Bullish Case: **Valereum is a chart with the potential to become a bigger mover. It has a rising channel base and, crucially, a failed gap fill. A failed attempt to close a downside gap can be a strong sign that demand is overwhelming the available supply. The initial target is around **4.2p**, followed by the 200 day moving average at approximately **6.6p** by the end of next month. The key condition is straightforward: there should be no end of day close below the** 3.6p **gap floor.*

- ***World Chess: A Bull Flag Setup With a 0.64p Target: **World Chess is the fresh chart on the list. The attraction comes from a small bull flag formation combined with a rising trend channel base. While the shares remain above the 50 day moving average at around **0.33p**, the target is **0.64p** by the end of next month. The strongest recoveries often occur when the 50 day moving average begins rising from the lows and the share price stays above it, even when support is tested. In the best cases, the stock is simply too strong to come back and properly test support before moving higher again.*

## What Matters Most Across These Charts

The broad pattern is not complicated. Markets and shares that hold above rising 50 day and 200 day moving averages remain in the stronger technical category. Breaks above established resistance, especially on an end of day closing basis, are the signals that can accelerate a move.

At the same time, support levels matter just as much as upside targets. A technically bullish chart can quickly lose momentum if it closes back below a channel floor, a major moving average or a recently broken resistance line.

For now, the focus is on the break levels: FTSE 100 above 10,860, Bitcoin above 82,000, Ethereum above 2,570, gold holding 4,390 and crude oil maintaining $88. In the smaller-cap space, the best setups are those where the price action continues to confirm the rising moving averages underneath.
