Zak Mir takes a charting look at some of the most closely followed small caps on the London Stock Exchange. Today’s charts are FTSE 100, DAX, Dow, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Gold,  Ascent, Avacta, Celsius, Defence, Empyrean, EnergyPathways, Future Metals, Gunsynd, KEFI, Nuformix, Oracle Power, Roquefort, Tap, Vault.

In this market roundup I run through the charts and the short-term technical outlook for major indices, crypto and gold, then dive into a selection of small-cap plays I’m watching closely. This is a no-frills, chart-driven steer: key support and resistance, moving-average context and likely near-term targets.

As always, do your own research and treat these as chart-based observations rather than hard recommendations.

### Quick market overview

**FTSE 100**

The FTSE pulled back a touch from last month’s record high (9,357) and yesterday’s intra-day high fell a few points short. Price remains inside the rising channel seen since June, with a near-term floor around 9,220. The 50-day moving average sits just under that (about 9,190) and the RSI is comfortably above neutral (just under 56).

- Near-term: rebound off the 9,220 area is the constructive view.

- Must-hold: a retest of the 50-day (9,190) would be a reasonable corrective move.

- Absolute downside risk: the September support around 9,400 (as flagged) — but the bias remains higher while the channel holds.

- Upside: channel top could reach roughly 9,550 by the end of next month if momentum continues.

**DAX**

DAX is in a tidy “no man’s land” between the falling 50-day (23,900) and the channel floor (23,400). RSI sits just below 50 — so neither strongly bullish nor bearish.

- Trading plan: buy nearer the channel floor, sell into the 50-day unless we get an end-of-day close above the 50-day line.

- Upside on confirmation: a daily close above the 50-day opens a path to 24,000–25,700 (channel top projection into next month).

- Downside: the 200-day (~22,800) would be the more serious slide if sellers take control.

**Dow**

The Dow is consolidating well on the right-hand side of the 46,000 area. We’ve seen RSI rebound (about 55) and the index is holding above the 50-day. That’s a constructive configuration.

- Base case: continued grind higher inside the rising channel.

- Target: channel suggests as high as 47,900 by the end of next month (even heading toward 48,000 in coming weeks while we stay at c46,000.

- Support: keep an eye on the 50-day (around 45,000).

### **Cryptocurrency**

**Bitcoin**

Bitcoin has been “dancing with the 50-day line” — this is an important technical battleground. I want to see a clear end-of-day or weekly close above 118 to open a clean run toward the top of the rising trend channel (132 on the chart), which could be in play by the end of next month.

- Near support: channel floor currently around 109 (tested last week).

- Deeper stop: the 200-day moving average 104, which hasn’t been breached since April.

- Bias: expect price to remain within the established rising channel unless momentum breaks down.

**Ethereum**

Ethereum has disappointed relative to expectations — it’s underperformed Bitcoin recently. We identified a channel floor around 3,820 and the immediate target is the 50-day (just shy of 4,400).

- Near-term target: reclaim the 50-day, then ideally push toward the channel top (~5,400) by the end of next month if momentum recovers.

- Current RSI: below ideal levels (around 45) which means it needs to build momentum.

- Risk: underperformance vs Bitcoin keeps this name cautious until we see clearer RSI/MA support.

### Gold

Gold hit a record high yesterday — the market got there a little early compared with our channel projection, but the technical picture remains bullish while we stay above recent support (3,720). The channel top target I’m watching is 3,860.

### Selected small-cap watchlist (chart-focused picks)

Below are the stocks discussed with the key levels, technical triggers and my short-term targets. These are chart-based comments — note the specific support and stop references for risk management.

- **Ascent Resources** — Bull-flag breakout through 0.58. We’ve seen bullish RSI divergence (lower lows in price, higher RSI) and a rising 50-day. Above 0.58 looks set for a run; nothing significant on the chart between 0.58 and 0.80 (target into next month).

- **Avacta Group** — Bounced from an RSI uptrend line in place since March. Price is above a rising 50-day (a leading upside signal). A daily close 56p would offer a path into the mid‑70s (rising channel target from May).

- **Celsius Resources** — Rapid advance toward the top of its channel (target 0.70p by the end of next month). We gapped above the 200-day yesterday — a nice follow-through. Upside remains valid while 0.45p.

- **Defence Holdings** — Steep rising trend channel; top of the channel at 4.3p into next month if the run continues. Key support around 2.5p (floor of the channel).

- **Empyrean Energy** — Sitting near the 50- and 200-day MAs. A break above 0.083p and the 200-day could open a move to 0.15p, but short-term price action has been disappointing. Support to watch around 0.055.

- **Energy Pathways** — After a big move on Friday and Monday, some profit-taking is understandable. Needs to stay 6.45p (Friday’s prior resistance now key support). To resume the bullish triangle breakout, reclaiming February/March resistance 8.3p is important; then a swing toward 13–14p is possible.

- **Future Metals** — Behaved well: the next target 2p is likely in coming days while 1.5p (gap floor). If 2p clears quickly, the channel top might take it toward 3.5p by the end of next month. 50-day and 200-day both rising — constructive.

- **Gunsynd** — Broke recent resistance 0.16p with multiple RSI 50 rebounds. 50- and 200-day MAs are lining up for a golden cross. Looking for a run toward 2p+ (and a reasonable swing target around 2.30p spike from last August if momentum extends) while 0.16.

- **KEFI Gold and Copper** — In a rising trend channel with a floor around 0.93p. Initial resistance was 1.1p; above that a swift move to 1.7p could materialise by the end of next month, especially with project news expected.

- **Nuformix  **—  Two RSI 50 rebounds recently and both 50- & 200-day lines rising (effectively a golden cross). 0.26  target looks well supported on the chart.

- **Oracle Power** — Top riser of the day despite no Bulletin Board Heroes video — price reclaimed prior resistance as new support. While 0.05p, expect a retest of 0.09p (resistance projection from March last year). Worst-case back to 0.045; the three RSI 50 rebounds preceding the jump were an accurate early signal.

- **Roquefort Therapeutics** — Hitting the triangle top near 2.4p — need an end-of-day close above that to open a path to 3.5p by the end of next month. 200-day support 2.13p is the key near-term guardrail.

- **Tap Global Group** — Finishing the month strongly after bouncing off rising 50- and 200-day lines. The seller has been aggressive around 2.5–3p; if we hold 200-day (1.8p), a move to 3.6p (next channel top) is plausible.

-
**Vaultz Capital** —  Stay 5p for a path to the 200-day (6.75p) in the coming sessions — a useful first recovery off the lows.

**Conclusion**

Overall the larger indices and gold remain constructive inside their rising channels while Bitcoin/Ethereum need clean weekly/daily closes above the key moving averages to confirm the next leg higher. The small-cap watchlist is a mix of momentum breakouts and channel rides — each has explicit levels to monitor for continuation or failure.
