Tesla outpaces analyst forecasts on quarterly vehicle deliveries

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) delivered 497,100 vehicles in the third quarter, a 7% increase from a year earlier and well ahead of Wall Street’s forecast of 447,000. This marks a new quarterly record for the company.

Deliveries rose from 384,122 in the previous quarter and from 462,890 in the same period last year. Production in Q3 totalled 447,000 vehicles.

Most of the output came from the Model 3 and Model Y, with 481,166 deliveries compared to analyst estimates of 425,100. Other models accounted for 11,624 units produced and 15,933 delivered.

Tesla said it produced more than 447,000 vehicles and delivered over 497,000 in the third quarter, both new records for the company. It also deployed 12.5 GWh of energy storage products, another quarterly high.

The strong delivery numbers came despite weaker sales in the European Union this year, where some customers were reportedly discouraged by Elon Musk’s earlier support for Donald Trump, before the two men fell out earlier in 2025.

Tesla shares initially rose on Thursday but later slipped 1% to $454.19, after hitting an eight-month high the day before.

Tesla will publish its full third-quarter financial results on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, after the close of US markets.
