Sunda Energy plc (AIM: SNDA) has raised the full £525,000 available through its retail offer after demand exceeded the number of shares available.
The company will issue 35 million retail offer shares at 1.5p each, taking total gross proceeds from the wider placing, subscription and retail fundraising to £5.775 million.
Across the fundraising, Sunda will issue 385 million new shares, comprising 350 million placing and subscription shares alongside the 35 million retail shares.
The oversubscribed retail offer indicates strong participation from existing private investors, although the excess demand does not increase the amount raised beyond the £525,000 retail allocation.
Completion remains conditional on shareholders approving the necessary resolutions at the general meeting on 8 October 2026.
Subject to approval, the new retail shares are expected to begin trading on AIM at 8am on 12 October 2026 and will rank equally with the company’s existing ordinary shares.
For investors, the oversubscription provides evidence of demand at the 1.5p issue price, while the £5.775 million fundraising strengthens Sunda’s funding position. The trade-off remains the substantial increase in shares in issue, meaning the key question is whether deployment of the new capital can create sufficient value to outweigh the resulting dilution.
