Sunda Energy Targets H1 2026 for Chuditch-2 Drilling
Sunda Energy PLC (AIM: SNDA) has confirmed that drilling of the Chuditch-2 well offshore Timor-Leste is now planned for the first half of 2026.
The company said it held constructive meetings in July with the Minister of Petroleum and regulatory authorities, with all parties committed to the revised schedule. Preparations are underway, including review of a new helicopter support proposal, progressing permits, and launching a full rig tender process. Updated Environmental Impact Statement and Environmental Management Plan documents are expected to be submitted in September.
“Despite the setback of the drilling postponement, the team is fully engaged, and we look forward to significant progress in the coming months,” said Chief Executive Andy Butler.

Gerry Aherne, Chairman: “It was good to have positive meetings with the Minister of Petroleum, their partners TIMOR GAP and the various government authorities on my recent Timor-Leste visit.”
In parallel, Sunda is awaiting final presidential approval for two exploration blocks it has applied for, with nine service contracts – including its own – pending signature. The company is also evaluating other potentially material new business opportunities.
