Stocks are soaring on Wall Street as trading gets underway.

The S&P 500 has surged 3.3%, climbing 169 points to 5,232, as investors rush to buy stocks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, which tracks 30 major U.S. companies, has soared 1,380 points (or 3.6%), reaching 39,346 points, while the Nasdaq jumped 3.7%.

This rally is a welcome relief for investors, following the sharp declines in share values seen on Thursday and Friday last week.

Donald Trump said a deal between the US and China “will happen” over tariffs.

All 30 stocks on the Dow Jones Industrial Average are in the green in early trading.

Leading the charge is UnitedHealth Group, up 7.7%, after the U.S. government announced higher-than-expected reimbursement rates for Medicare Advantage health plans.

Close behind are Nvidia, gaining 7.1%, followed by JP Morgan (+5.6%) and Goldman Sachs (+5.1%).

Trump Says He’s “Waiting for China to Call” on Tariff Negotiations

President Donald Trump stated he is waiting for a call from China, emphasizing that its leaders “badly” want to reach a deal on tariffs with the U.S.

Despite recent tariff threats exchanged between the two nations, Trump remains optimistic, asserting that a deal with Beijing “will happen.”

On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote:

“China also wants to make a deal, badly, but they don’t know how to get it started. We are waiting for their call. It will happen!”
