As the tranquillity of the last long summer evenings draw to a close, children pick up their backpacks and books ready to head back to school, it seems as though September has officially arrived.
Whilst parents get to grips with the new school timetable and navigate the queue to buy that perfect pair of new school shoes, can we quietly hope that this is a sign of some normality returning to our lives? Just as the school children lay out their crisp new uniforms and pack their supplies ready for the week ahead, us adults prepare ourselves for going back into the office at last: digging up our long-forgotten attire to replace the zoom-appropriate loungewear, dusting off those bubble wrapped screens, and getting a new desk plant that you are determined to keep alive this time.
St Brides, like many others, are settling into a brand new office, ready to get the team back together for some real face time – no video screens or joining links to be found. The buzz as the City begins to fill up again is as palpable as those first day back at school jitters with everyone getting back to grips navigating the morning commute, finding that go-to lunch spot, and ending a long hard day over a shared bottle of wine at your favourite local haunt with your colleagues. All of the small things that we took for granted as part of our normal two years ago are slowly reassuming their places back in our lives and we at St Brides can’t wait to return to the fray and see some familiar faces and meet some new ones!
