Recent data indicates that Shell’s fuel stations in the UK are among the priciest, with the company’s UK outlets averaging 142.6p per litre for petrol and 151.2p per litre for diesel, as per the RAC Foundation’s analysis.
This pricing surpasses that of other major fuel retailers.
Conversely, supermarket-branded fuels are generally more affordable, even though the price gap with other providers has lessened over time.
Notably, Morrisons offers the most economical fuel options, with their stations charging an average of 136.9p per litre for petrol and 145.5p per litre for diesel.
Comparatively, filling a 55-litre family car with petrol at Morrisons would save approximately £3.14 compared to doing so at a Shell station.
