The FTSE 100 finished the session in positive territory after surging to a new intraday high in the wake of the Supreme Court ruling.\n\nBritain’s blue-chip index climbed to a record 10,745 shortly after 3 pm UK time as the news broke, before easing back slightly into the close. It ended the day up 59 points, or 0.56%, at 10,686. The FTSE has been in a rising trend channel since October.\n\nThe near-term pivot is 10,570 — staying above that level keeps the bullish case intact and opens the door to a move toward 11,000.
