Saudi Arabia won’t be held responsible for any oil shortages in global markets due to Houthi attacks on oil facilities. This was stated by the Saudi energy ministry on Friday, following an attack on Aramco’s oil giant facilities.
The ministry stated that missiles were fired on Friday at the Jizan and Jeddah distribution for petroleum products, causing no injuries.
After state media reported that Saudi Arabia had launched rocket and drone attacks against a Jeddah oil depot and other facilities in Riyadh, Yemen’s Houthis rebels acknowledged the attack.
As Jeddah prepared for a Formula One race, a huge plume was visible rising from the Jeddah plant.
Yahya Saarea, a spokesperson for the Houthi military said that the group attacked Aramco with missiles and drones.
Sarea said that the attack also targeted vital facilities located in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Saree tweeted that the attacks were on “Aramco facilities Jeddah as well as vital facilities in Riyadh, the capital of the Saudi enemy.” He added that the facilities of Aramco, the oil giant, were also attacked in Jizan and Najran, Ras Tanura, Rabigh, and with “a large number of drones”.
Al Arabiya TV quoted the coalition as saying that the kingdom’s air defence system had destroyed two drones laden with explosives and targeting Najran.
