Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) XRF analysis reveals additional signs of tin mineralization at Kalayi.

Rome Resources (AIM: RMR) has reported signs of mineralisation in the latest two drill holes at its Kalayi project in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to the company, results from a Niton XRF portable analyser on core samples indicated tin mineralisation in drill holes KBDD005 and KBDD006. Kalayi is part of the company’s Bisie North Projects, which also includes the Mont Agoma and Mont Agoma Northwest prospects.

In drill hole KBDD005, handheld XRF analysis of core samples identified a high-grade tin zone over 1.5 meters, with a maximum grade of 3.1% tin. In drill hole KBDD006, two zones of tin were defined: a 10-meter zone with a maximum grade of 5.3% tin, and an 8-meter zone with a maximum grade of 0.5% tin.

Hole KBDD007 intersected a narrow zone of near-surface tin mineralization, consistent with typical pinching and swelling along the mineralized structure. Meanwhile, hole KBDD009 has reached a depth of 62.5 meters and is targeting significant mineralization encountered at depth in KBDD006.

Additionally, hole MADD016, currently at a depth of 46 meters, has intersected a gossanous zone with quartz veining and anomalous tin in its bottom three meters. Hole KBDD010 has been initiated and will test a high-grade tin soil anomaly south of the current drilling area.

A fourth diamond drill rig is being mobilized and is expected to arrive on-site within two weeks. This rig will begin drilling at Mont Agoma, which has seen limited exploration during the current campaign.

Paul Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of Rome Resources Plc, commented: “We are extremely encouraged by the results received from the XRF analyser as, although not certified, they represent further confirmation that our licence area contains significant, high-grade tin mineralisation. We continue to progress the drilling programme, with the fourth diamond drill rig currently being mobilised, which will accelerate operations across our identified prospects.”

“Our team has a wealth of experience developing tin projects within the DRC, and we are looking forward to drawing on their expertise as drilling and testing continues at the Company’s Bisie North Project. We are committed to updating our investors regularly as the programme continues, and we look forward to sharing certified assay results in due course.”
