Update on Rome Resources’ Drilling Operations
Rome Resources Plc (AIM: RMR) announced that it has two diamond core drill rigs operational at the Kalayi prospect and one drill rig at the Mont Agoma prospect in North Kivu province, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These sites, along with the Mont Agoma Northwest prospect, form the Bisie North Projects.
Highlights:
- The third drill hole of the current campaign, KBDD007, is underway at 103 meters at Kalayi.
- The second drill rig at Kalayi has been set up on the same line as KBDD006, which revealed a significant tin zone on 27 August 2024. This rig will target the zone approximately 50 meters below the initial mineralized intersection.
- The third drill rig at Mont Agoma is positioned southeast of previous drilling sites. It will focus on anomalous tin mineralization encountered in the top 50 meters of MADD009, as well as the copper/tin/silver zone at deeper levels.
- Rome Resources will provide regular updates on its drilling progress, aiming for a resource mineral estimate by early 2025.
Paul Barrett, Chief Executive Officer of Rome Resources Plc, commented:
We are really pleased with the ongoing progress of our drilling campaign at Bisie North, now poised to accelerate further. The positive results we are receiving support the initial work undertaken at the Project which indicated it has the potential to be an exciting, high-grade tin deposit. With demand for tin increasing, and disruption continuing at some of the world’s largest suppliers, Bisie North could be a key element to filling the anticipated supply shortfall of this critical metal.”
