Range Rover Lines Roar Back to Life at JLR’s Solihull Plant

Jaguar Land Rover Restarts Production After Major Cyber Attack

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has restarted Range Rover production at its Solihull plant as the carmaker begins recovering from a major cyber attack that halted manufacturing for more than a month.

Employees returned to work at the West Midlands site on Thursday, following a phased restart that began on Wednesday. JLR said it expects all UK manufacturing sites to be fully operational by the end of next week.

The remaining production lines at Solihull — which produce the Range Rover Velar and Jaguar F-Pace — are scheduled to restart next Monday, alongside the company’s Halewood plant in Merseyside.

Overseas facilities in Pune, India, and Brazil are expected to resume operations later next week, completing the group’s full production recovery.

Luis Vara, JLR’s global manufacturing director, said there was a “strong sense of unity and momentum” among employees, who had been working from home since the August 31 cyber attack that disrupted company systems.
