[Quantum Helium Limited (AIM: QHE; OTC: QHELF)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/quantum-helium-limited--qhe/sagebrush-mobilisation-commences/9860101) has commenced mobilisation and site preparations for a major fracture stimulation programme at its Sagebrush-1 well in Colorado, marking an important step towards demonstrating commercially sustainable helium production.

The company, which holds a **90% working interest in Sagebrush**, confirmed that a workover rig is now on location, with specialist equipment being assembled ahead of the planned stimulation operation.

The company has installed new 3.5-inch tubing in the well, while preparations continue for additional surface equipment, storage tanks, and specialist stimulation services.

The programme follows several months of engineering design and technical evaluation aimed at improving gas flow from the helium-bearing **Leadville Formation**.

**Sagebrush-1 has previously demonstrated helium concentrations of approximately 2.5% during recent testing**, while historical drill stem tests recorded concentrations of **2.76% helium**.

Although these results confirm the presence of helium-bearing gas, previous testing identified restrictions affecting the ability of the reservoir to deliver stronger and more sustainable flow rates.

**The planned stimulation will use a gelled foam treatment incorporating nitrogen and proppant**, designed to create fractures within the formation and maintain pathways through which gas can flow into the wellbore.

Nitrogen will also assist the subsequent flowback process, helping remove treatment fluids and allowing engineers to assess the reservoir’s response.

The operation builds on lessons from an earlier acid stimulation programme and an extended production test, with Quantum seeking to improve the effectiveness of the treatment through a revised engineering approach.

**Following stimulation, Sagebrush-1 will undergo an initial flowback and clean-up phase**, followed by measurements of gas flow rates, pressures and reservoir performance.

Further extended production testing may follow, depending on the initial results.

**Chief Executive Howard McLaughlin** described the commencement of mobilisation as an important milestone following months of technical preparation.

He said the company’s immediate priority was to improve flow from an established helium-bearing formation and determine whether Sagebrush-1 could deliver the production performance required for commercial development.

**The programme comes shortly after the US Department of Energy designated helium as a critical material on 23 October 2026**, recognising its importance to semiconductor manufacturing, quantum computing, medical technologies and national security.

Quantum believes the designation strengthens the strategic relevance of its domestic US helium portfolio as demand for secure supplies continues to attract attention.

**The company’s Sagebrush and Coyote Wash projects contain a combined 1.104 billion cubic feet of independently assessed gross 2U helium resources**, evaluated by Sproule ERCE.

Using an illustrative selling price of **US$500 per thousand cubic feet**, Quantum calculates a potential gross sales value of approximately **US$552 million** across the resource portfolio.

However, this is a theoretical calculation rather than a project valuation or forecast revenue. Actual financial returns would depend on commercially recoverable volumes, production costs, development requirements and prevailing helium prices.

**For investors, the start of mobilisation represents tangible operational progress at Sagebrush-1**, with the forthcoming stimulation programme providing an opportunity to assess whether improved reservoir connectivity can deliver commercially viable gas flow.

While helium has already been identified within the Leadville Formation, **sustained production rates and commercial deliverability remain to be demonstrated**.

**Attention will now turn to completion of the stimulation treatment, initial flowback results and subsequent gas flow testing**, as Quantum Helium works towards establishing the production potential of its Colorado assets.
