Premier African Minerals Limited has issued an update on the status of plant operations at its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project, following its previous announcement on 4 August 2025.
The second phase of the plant’s test run began on schedule, with modifications outlined in earlier communications now being implemented. While the team continues to manage normal optimisation and commissioning challenges, each step is reportedly yielding encouraging progress.
Premier noted that accumulated operational insights—along with support from a highly experienced Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) team and newly appointed Managing Director Graham Hill—are playing a key role in driving improvements. A decision on the potential purchase of the secondary spodumene flotation section is expected within the next seven days.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to address two longer-term plant issues:
-
Sorter Replacement: The original OEM-provided sorters are deemed unfit for purpose and will be replaced.
-
Tantalum Circuit Completion: Discussions are advancing with multiple interested parties regarding offtake agreements and potential financial support for completing the tantalum recovery circuit.
Premier remains optimistic that these developments will enhance the long-term efficiency and output of the Zulu Project.
George Roach, CEO commented, “We are generally pleased with progress and remain as confident as ever in the final successful conclusion of this phase.”
