Premier African Minerals has issued an update on its Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project, following the completion of the commissioning test phase.
The company confirmed it will now conduct a test run to optimise the flotation plant, with the primary goal of achieving consistent production of spodumene concentrate grading above 5% Li₂O (Saleable Concentrate). While the plant has already demonstrated its ability to produce Saleable Concentrate, the next step is to prove the reliability and consistency of output.
To support this, limited mining operations have resumed, ensuring a steady ore supply to the ROM pad, with material expected to be fed to the plant before the end of the day.
This stage of work is seen as critical for validating the Zulu plant’s operational capacity and forms an important foundation for securing long-term growth opportunities.
Graham Hill, Managing Director, commented, “This next phase is a fundamental step in the ongoing validation process of the operating capacity of the Zulu plant.
Demonstrating the ability to consistently float material at grade over sustained periods is essential to ensuring that all operational aspects are aligned for the future of Zulu. These results will provide the foundation for growth, whether through new investment or additional off-take funding, as those discussions with potential funders continue to advance.”
