Premier African Minerals Limited has announced that George Roach will step down as Chief Executive Officer and director, following a mutual agreement to terminate his consultancy agreement with the company.
Roach, who founded Premier in 2007, will continue in his role until 31 August 2025 to allow for an orderly transition.
The move follows the terms of his Executive Service Agreement signed in December 2012. Roach is classified as a “good leaver,” and the agreement allows him a 12-month period post-departure to exercise any outstanding share options.
Reflecting on his departure, Roach said: “It has been an incredible journey to see this business develop and what has been accomplished since I founded Premier. With the Zulu Lithium and Tantalum Project approaching full commissioning, now is the right time to hand over the reins. I will remain available to support the company during this transition.”
Chairman Godfrey Manhambara praised Roach’s leadership: “George’s passion and commitment have been instrumental in building Premier and guiding the development of two mines under his management. We are grateful for his years of service and look forward to working closely with him over the next few months.”
The board has begun the search for a new CEO or managing director and will provide updates on executive appointments in due course.
