Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM: PHE) has entered into a three-year, non-exclusive marketing agreement with Hydrogen Utopia International PLC (LON: HUI) to promote its waste-to-hydrogen Distributed Modular Generation (DMG) technology across Central and Eastern Europe.
The agreement, which can be extended, allows HUI to pursue project opportunities without incurring upfront fees, supporting a capital-light approach to project origination. Under the terms, any commercial returns would be negotiated directly with project developers.
The partnership is designed to accelerate project development timelines and enable HUI to engage at an early stage in prospective European projects.
In parallel, HUI has signed a letter of intent with Mithras Energy S.A., further strengthening its pipeline. The company believes these developments position it to benefit from growing demand for circular economy and waste-to-energy infrastructure across Europe.
Aleksandra Binkowska, chief executive of Hydrogen Utopia International PLC, welcomed the renewed partnership with Powerhouse Energy Group PLC, highlighting long-standing efforts to build awareness and support for its waste-to-hydrogen technology.
She said the agreement reflects growing momentum behind hydrogen as a future energy source, particularly across both small- and large-scale applications such as heavy-duty transport. Binkowska noted that while progress requires time and sustained support, European governments are increasingly recognising the need for practical, near-term solutions to energy and environmental challenges.
She added that the agreement marks another step forward in advancing technologies that can play a meaningful role in Europe’s energy transition.
Meanwhile, David Hitchcock described the deal as an “unexpected opportunity” that underscores HUI’s commitment to energy security and hydrogen infrastructure. He said the partnership gives Powerhouse access—at no cost—to an experienced, regionally knowledgeable team in central Europe, and expressed optimism about working together to support the transition to cleaner energy systems.
