Pires Investments plc (AIM: PIRI), the investment company focused on next generation technology, is pleased to announce an update on Getvisibility, an artificial intelligence-based data discovery, classification and protection platform company that Pires is invested in, both directly and through its investment in Sure Valley Ventures (“SVV”).
In a recent poll conducted by Sifted with its panel of leading venture capital investors, Getvisibility was voted as one of Ireland’s top 18 start-ups. Sifted is a news media website specifically covering Europe’s innovators and entrepreneurs and is backed by the Financial Times.
On 10 March 2020, Pires announced that it had agreed to invest €250,000 in Visibility Blockchain Limited, a private company incorporated in Ireland which trades under the name Getvisibility. Pires has a circa 20% interest in SVV, a venture capital fund focused on investing in the software technology sector with a specific focus on Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things and Immersive Technologies.
Peter Redmond, Chairman of Pires, commented:
“We are delighted that Getvisibility has achieved this recognition from leading venture capital investors. We believe that the company is very well placed to grow against the background of the increasing incidence of cybersecurity threats.”
