[Guardian Metal Resources (NYSE.A: GMTL, LON: GMET, OTCQB: GMTLF)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/guardian-metal-resources-plc--gmet/pilot-mountain-pfs-update-investor-presentation/9637905) has confirmed it will publish the long-awaited Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for its Pilot Mountain Tungsten Project in Nevada on 30 June, marking a major milestone in its ambition to develop the first new domestic tungsten mine in the United States for more than 15 years.

The study has been supported by a US Department of Defense award of $6.2 million under the Defense Production Act Title III programme and has been prepared by Guardian Metal alongside Samuel Engineering and a team of specialist engineering and environmental consultants.

The PFS is expected to provide investors with the first detailed assessment of the project’s economics, mine plan, processing strategy and development pathway, making it a key value inflection point for the company.

Following publication of the study, Guardian Metal will host a live investor presentation on 1 July to discuss the results and outline the next steps for advancing Pilot Mountain towards development.

Pilot Mountain is regarded as one of the most significant undeveloped tungsten projects in the United States at a time when governments are seeking to reduce dependence on overseas supplies of critical minerals. Tungsten is considered strategically important for defence, aerospace, electronics and advanced manufacturing, with China currently dominating global production.

The upcoming PFS represents an important step in de-risking the project and could significantly enhance the company’s investment case as it progresses towards permitting, financing and eventual mine development.
