Panther Metals Plc (LON: PALM) has reported encouraging Phase 1 magnesium recovery results from its Dotted Lake Project in Ontario, Canada. Preliminary metallurgical testwork using the Extrakt™️ leaching technology achieved cumulative magnesium recovery of approximately 38%, significantly exceeding the 19–25% ceiling observed during conventional single-stage leaching.
The results establish an important baseline for further process development, with Panther now looking towards additional metallurgical testing, reagent management optimisation and techno-economic evaluation. The Dotted Lake ultramafic intrusive also contains elevated nickel, cobalt, chromium and other critical elements that could potentially be investigated as future by-products.
Key topics discussed:
- 38% cumulative magnesium recovery
- Performance versus conventional leaching
- Extrakt™️ leaching technology
- Magnesium-rich serpentine at Dotted Lake
- Nickel, cobalt and chromium by-product potential
- Reagent efficiency and downstream processing
- Next stages of metallurgical testing
- Path towards potential pilot-scale work
