# Orosur Reports Gold Mineralisation From Surface at El Cedro

[Orosur Mining Inc. (AIM/TSXV: OMI)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/eqs/orosur-mining-inc--omi/orosur-mining-announces-discovery-at-el-cedro/9772403)has reported encouraging initial results from the first drill hole at its **El Cedro prospect within the Anzá Project in Colombia**.

Partial assays from hole **CED001 returned 61.35m at 0.93g/t gold from surface**, including **42.15m at 1.02g/t from 19.2m**.

The hole has also intersected the targeted vein system at around **99m depth**, where Orosur observed a broad zone of polymetallic veining containing pyrrhotite, pyrite, galena, sphalerite and locally chalcopyrite. Assays from this deeper section remain pending.

Surface sampling from the vein system previously returned values of up to **8.83g/t gold**, while the company said vein density appears to increase with depth.

CED001 is currently at around **130m and is planned to continue to 500m**, with completion expected by the end of September. Further assay results, including from the deeper vein zone, are expected in the near term.

**Summary

**The Company considers these results from the first hole ever drilled on the prospect to be highly encouraging, as evidence of a substantial porphyry/hydrothermal mineralised system. Only one rig is currently dedicated to the El Cedro system, with two more holes planned to be drilled in different directions from the same pad once CED001 is complete. However, these plans may be reviewed as the hole progresses, and a more detailed geological picture develops.
