Oriole Resources PLC (AIM: ORR) has announced further high-grade results from its maiden drilling campaign at the Mbe gold project in Cameroon.
Three additional drill holes delivered 31 gold-bearing intersections, highlighted by 6.15 metres at 19.67 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including a standout one-metre interval grading 119.1 g/t.
The company said the new results expand mineralisation beyond the existing model, with the gold system remaining open in all directions. Supporting this, rock-chip sampling from artisanal pits outside the defined target returned assays of up to 13.1 g/t gold.
“These latest results from Mbe are significant for several reasons,” said chief executive Martin Rosser.
“First, they demonstrate the potential for exceptionally high grades within the deposit, consistent with what we have already seen at surface. Second, they expand the boundaries of the known gold system, which could increase the scale of both the recently published Mbe Exploration Target and the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for MB01-S, planned for Q4 2025.
“And importantly, with the system still open in all directions, the potential scale of Mbe remains uncapped – which is hugely exciting.”
The Phase 1 drilling programme is now over 90% complete, with more than 6,400 metres drilled to date. An independent consultant has already conducted a site visit ahead of the maiden MRE for the MB01-S target, due in the final quarter of 2025.
