On day 51 of Putins 3 day war – Update

French President Emmanuel Macron is the latest to warn of a Russian attack on eastern Ukraine.

The Kremlin could repeat at least some of its mistakes from the past seven weeks if that is indeed its plan. Russia could send units to fight in Ukraine during the spring mud season.

This is when the ground is too wet and soft for vehicles and mobile artillery to get off-road without becoming stuck. It may leave convoys vulnerable to attacks similar to those that killed thousands of Russians during Vladimir Putin’s failed attempt to seize Kyiv.

The eastern port city of Mariupol is under siege for weeks. It could fall completely under Russian control in days.

However, Putin suffered a major loss when he learned that his Black Sea-based flagship, the Moskva, was destroyed by the Neptune missile.

Any Russian attempts to land amphibious vessels may need to be reexamined.

On Thursday, the Kremlin responded to Sweden and Finland’s moves toward NATO membership by threatening to deploy nuclear weapons to the Baltics.

One official dismissed the latest sabre-rattling from the Russian regime as an empty threat. It’s assumed that Moscow has been operating tactical nuclear weapons in the area for many years.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nuseda said, “I don’t know if you can deploy something new that’s been deployed.”
