New Range Rover model costs over £200,000 and is invitation-only

Land Rover has unveiled the Range Rover SV Ultra, an ultra-exclusive luxury vehicle that represents the company’s most opulent offering to date. The model stands apart from conventional offerings through a strictly limited distribution model based on direct invitation from the manufacturer.

This approach mirrors the strategies of ultra-premium automotive brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley, establishing exclusivity as a core commercial principle rather than a secondary consideration.

Pricing for the SV Ultra has deliberately not been disclosed to the general public; however, industry analysts anticipate the vehicle will command a price substantially exceeding £200,000. This positioning places the model well above the current flagship Range Rover SV, which carries a recommended retail price of £160,000. The premium pricing reflects both the limited production volume and the extensive bespoke customisation options available to qualified purchasers.

The vehicle’s technical specifications offer two primary powertrain options for initial deliveries. Buyers may select either the P550e plug-in hybrid system or the P540 V8 petrol engine. A fully electric variant will become available upon the launch of the Range Rover Electric, scheduled for release within the coming months. This powertrain diversity permits clientele to align their purchase with evolving personal preferences regarding vehicle propulsion technologies.

Aesthetic differentiation constitutes a significant component of the SV Ultra’s exclusivity proposition. The vehicle features a proprietary Titan Silver paint finish, formulated using real aluminium flakes combined with advanced pigment technology to create a distinctive mirror-like liquid metal appearance. Complementary design elements include Satin Platinum Atlas and Silver Chrome accents throughout the exterior, with 23-inch alloy wheels featuring platinum inserts and centre caps. These design choices collectively establish a visual identity distinct from standard Range Rover offerings.

Interior specifications demonstrate comparable levels of attention to luxury appointments. Seating surfaces and door panels incorporate vegan Ultrafabric material in an exclusive Orchid White colourway, accented with Cinder Grey detailing. A world-first for Land Rover Jaguar Range Rover products involves laser-etched mosaic patterning applied to seat surfaces. Additional refinements include a rattan palm wood veneer finish applied to an electronically controlled onboard refrigerator unit, with a matching club table that can be summoned from the centre console for rear passenger use.

The audio system represents perhaps the most technologically advanced component of the SV Ultra. For the first time in a passenger motor vehicle, the range incorporates electrostatic sound technology designed to transform the cabin environment into an acoustic space approaching concert hall characteristics. Rather than utilising conventional speaker installations positioned within door cards, the system employs 21 lightweight transducers integrated into headrests, seat backs, and ceiling panels. Each electrostatic membrane measures just 1 millimetre in thickness and responds up to 1,000 times faster than traditional speaker components, yielding substantially improved frequency response and signal clarity.

The audio architecture includes five dedicated bass loudspeakers and proprietary Body and Soul seats, which employ artificial intelligence algorithms to convert incoming audio signals into physical vibrations experienced throughout the seating surface. This integration creates an immersive sonic environment that encompasses both acoustic and tactile dimensions. Land Rover asserts the system requires approximately 90 per cent less electrical power whilst weighing 90 per cent less than conventional coil speaker installations, presenting meaningful efficiency gains without compromising acoustic performance.

Martin Limpert, the global managing director for Range Rover, characterised the SV Ultra as representing one of the finest expressions of Range Rover luxury ever realised. Industry observers suggest the electrostatic sound innovation constitutes a genuine technical advancement within the automotive sector, potentially establishing new industry standards for premium audio installation methodologies.

For prospective purchasers unable to secure an SV Ultra allocation, Land Rover has introduced the Range Rover Westminster Edition as an alternative premium offering. This vehicle carries a starting price of £114,630 and references London landmarks through carefully curated design selections. The palette incorporates premium metallic paint finishes, bespoke 22-inch diamond-turned wheels, and an interior featuring Natural Black Birch Veneer, a subtle allusion to the architectural aesthetic of government residences.

The Westminster Edition represents the inaugural vehicle within a London-themed series that encompasses the Range Rover Sport Battersea, Range Rover Velar Belgravia, and Range Rover Evoque Hoxton variants. These offerings provide premium positioning without the extreme scarcity and invitation-only purchasing restrictions that characterise the SV Ultra programme.
