[Mkango Magnetic Materials Ltd (AIM/TSX-V: MKA)](https://www.investegate.co.uk/announcement/rns/mkango-resources--mka/hypromag-usa-deploys-mobile-inserma-system/9829862) has announced the deployment of a third hard disk drive processing system by HyProMag USA, expanding its ability to recover rare earth magnets from electronic waste across the United States ahead of planned commissioning at its Texas recycling facility in 2028.

The new **mobile Inserma processing system** will allow HyProMag USA to undertake recovery operations directly at customer facilities, including data centres, industrial sites and secure electronic recycling locations.

The deployment builds on the company’s existing partnership with Intelligent Lifecycle Solutions (ILS), which operates processing facilities in South Carolina and Nevada.

**The mobile unit is designed to separate valuable magnet-bearing materials from end-of-life hard disk drives**, supporting the development of a domestic US supply chain for recycled rare earth materials.

Unlike fixed processing installations, the mobile system can be transported between customer sites, allowing HyProMag USA to demonstrate its technology, undertake trial processing and secure additional sources of recyclable materials.

**The company is building feedstock inventories ahead of the planned 2028 commissioning of its Dallas-Fort Worth recycling hub**, with materials already under contract and in storage expected to support initial operations.

Procurement activities are expanding across data centres, healthcare, government, industrial businesses and IT asset disposal providers, broadening the potential supply of rare earth-bearing equipment.

HyProMag USA has also established an additional revenue stream through **commercial sales of recovered printed circuit board (PCB) materials to downstream smelters**.

The sales, completed through ILS, generate revenue from secondary materials recovered during hard drive processing, helping offset the cost of acquiring and storing magnet-bearing feedstock.

The rare earth magnet materials themselves are being retained for future recycling operations at the Texas facility.

**A next-generation Inserma system is also undergoing testing**, specifically targeting modern high-capacity hard drives used in hyperscale data centres, including helium-filled models.

Early testing has demonstrated **processing times of less than three seconds per drive**, alongside successful handling of newer high-capacity storage formats.

The technology could support higher processing volumes as the number of retired data centre hard drives increases, although commercial throughput and operating economics remain to be established.

Security and traceability are also central to the operation, with ILS using **R2v3-certified recycling processes, ISO-certified management systems and documented chain-of-custody procedures**.

These controls are particularly important for data centre operators, government organisations and businesses requiring secure handling and disposal of data-bearing equipment.

**Julian Treger, Chief Executive of CoTec Holdings**, described the deployment as an important step in developing the Dallas-Fort Worth project, highlighting progress in feedstock sourcing, commercial PCB sales and customer engagement.

He said the expanding processing platform provides greater confidence in the company’s ability to support commissioning and establish a long-term domestic supply of recycled rare earth materials.

**ILS Managing Director Graham Davy** said the mobile system would enable direct engagement with customers, allowing processing trials to demonstrate material recovery performance while creating opportunities to secure additional feedstock.

HyProMag USA is continuing to develop partnerships across the electronics recycling, data centre and rare earth magnet supply chains, with further pilot programmes and commercial opportunities under evaluation.

**For investors, the deployment strengthens Mkango’s exposure to the growing market for recycled rare earth materials**, which are strategically important for electric vehicles, industrial equipment, renewable energy technologies and advanced manufacturing.

The generation of revenue from PCB sales also provides an early commercial benefit while the company builds the magnet inventories required for its future recycling operations.

However, **the Texas facility is not scheduled to begin commissioning until 2028**, and the announcement does not disclose the value of PCB sales, current feedstock volumes or projected revenues from the mobile processing operation.

**Attention will now turn to further feedstock agreements, customer processing trials and preparations for the Dallas-Fort Worth facility**, as HyProMag USA works towards establishing a scalable rare earth magnet recycling business in the United States.
